Where is...?

Class: 3º Primary
Students: 22

Book titled 'Where is...?'
How did you organise the groups?
I made group of 3 and 4 students.

What was the sequence of tasks that you followed to get to the final product?
First of all I printed the picture to work with it in a physical way. And to can write the sentences in the notebooks and in groups.

What were the specific learning objectives for this activity? How did the use of the tool help the learners achieve these objectives?
My students are 9 years old, so they have a basic knowledge of English. I wanted to work the prepositions of places and it was a funny way to do it. At first it was more boring but they were very motivated with the opportunity to use the computers.

● In what ways (be specific) was creativity and the use of imagination encouraged in your students?
It isn't an activity with many options to encourage creativity. But they could create differents answer to the same objects. And they must think in the differents options and choose one.

What did your students enjoy most / least about this activity?
The opportunity to use the computers in the school. They didn't realize that they were using English because all they wanted was to write on the computer.

What would you change next time?
I need more time, I must prepare the computers before be in the class. And I need the help of another teacher because they are very younger and very dependent.

How were the finished projects shared with the rest of the class?
In the class we share the books projecting on the digital board. They make a small presentation saying "hello, my name is...." and show the books. They classmates can participate by answering the questions.

● What opportunities were there for students to co-evaluate and discuss the learning experience with each other?
Since the students were able to answer their classmates' questions, there were options to think if the sentences were correct or not. And they could say if they liked it or not.

  1. Hi Estefanía!

I would like to comment on your blog because I like it very much.
I really enjoyed the design of your blog. I think it is very original and attracts the readers’ attention.

Furthermore, I discovered very good ideas to use with younger students, because at this stage teachers have to be creative and use varied resources like pictures or songs to encourage students to develop their tasks and make learning English a fun experience.

An aspect to improve your blog could be to include some contents for older students too, so that everybody can take advantage of it.

Thanks for sharing your work with us!

    Regards.
