Vídeo: EDPUZZLE VÍDEO
Course: 4º Primary
Reason for your choice of video:
I have chosen this video because it is great to work on in class with my students. I also want to do something similar with them in class and seeing an example is always useful.
Learning objectives for the session(s) and sequence of activities:
The objectives are to learn the vocabulary of the climate and the vocabulary of the countries. Another objective is to hear how they ask about the weather in a place. First of all in class we will review the vocabulary using the flashcards and playing with them. Then, we will use the computers in pairs to watch the video and answer the questions. Finally, in the same pairs, they will choose two places in the world and they will look for the weather.
Explain if you flipped your class (or any part of it) and how, if so, this has helped you achieve the learning objectives
The first homework that they did was watching the weather news at home. The next day in class, they discussed their impressions. And at home they had to look for in a map where was the place which they had choosen in pairs and prepair the exposition. This has helped me because they were very motivated and they practiced the vocabulary and structure in a real way, with real situations.
Highlight the high points of the experience: what went well and what did you and the students particularly enjoy about the task
The best part of this activities (I try to do all the years in class) is that my students are very motivated because it's a real activity and they act like TV presenters. And it's very easy to learn this vocabulary and the structure in an enjoy way. Furthemore families are very involved because they help to the students at home and prepare the clothes or "uniforms" to can record the presentation.
Suggest ways of improving next time
It's not the first time that I do this activity, but I remember that the first time I tried to start to record before viewing a real weather news, so I try to show some real examples because not all the students watch the news.
